Locally, Unison has the largest membership of staff employed by Aneurin Bevan Health Board.

Whatever your occupation – whether you work full-time or part-time Unison is the effective organisation for you.  
 

So if you want to be part of the organisation with the strength and ability to represent and negotiate for your interest – JOIN Unison.

The Branch was formed in 1999 when the then three Gwent Trusts merged to form Gwent Healthcare NHS Trust.

Before this merger there were three separate Unison branches covering Glan Hafren, Gwent Community Health and Nevill Hall & District NHS Trusts.

The Branch currently operates from 3 offices located at Newport, Cwmbran and Abergavenny (see Contact Us page) and has a spread of Shop Stewards and Safety Representatives across the whole area.  The support from both local and national resource facilities can speedily provide the answer to queries etc.

We aim to provide an effective service to all our members and this website is just one of our tools in delivering this service.

The Branch actively welcomes member’s involvement within the Branch, you decide on your level of activity. For details of how you can become involved in Unison activities contact the Branch Office or your local Convenor.

We hold quarterly Branch Meetings, which are open to all members. These meetings are held in March, June, September and December. The locations, dates and times will be published on our Events page.

The Branch involvement within the Wales Region, at both National and Regional Conferences and Committees provides members with the opportunity to influence Unison’s policies.

In Unison your involvement, your ideas and ideals can formulate Local, Regional and National policies.
